Are You Ready For Crunch Time?

2014-bcs

For some fans “it’s now or never” as footballs biggest games are coming up.

Betting on sports will be at a fevered pitch as the official bowl matchups are now announced. Between college bowl games, the NFL playoffs and then the grand daddy of all betting events the Super Bowl these next couple of months are make or break months for gamblers in the US. You can futz around all year with regular season games but come crunch time the big money is bet on the big games. One of the reasons would be that if you’re going well now is a time to realize a bigger gain and end the year on a super high note. Likewise, if you have been having problems now is the time you can turn it all around and end the year positively. I would even bet that some players will risk a fortune on the Super Bowl to make up for or catch up on a whole years worth of mediocre play. Certainly casual fans and infrequent gamblers will throw down on these big games too which is always gravy time for Vegas and the books. The bookies make their money on the home town rooters. The sentimentalists bet emotionally. The rookies don’t stand a chance. Real gamblers know that emotion and sentiments don’t have sway. Careful consideration and that good ole gut feeling that savvy gamblers have is what rules the day.

The first college bowl games are on Dec 21 with 4 games on tap. It‘s Colorado St Vs Washington St, a ho hum affair in New Mexico but it is first. In Las Vegas it’s 11-1 Fresno St Vs USC and this should be a doozie, it’s a great matchup. Buffalo Vs S Diego St in The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise I could miss as well as the New Orleans Bowl with Tulane Vs La Lafayette. I have to go Xmas shopping sometime right? From there are 17 more games in a football orgy building up to New Years Day when you have the Fiesta Bowl featuring 11-1 UCF Vs #6 Baylor, The Rose Bowl with Stanford Vs Michigan St, The Outback, Capitol One, Gator and Heart of Dallas Bowl WOW! On the 2nd it’s the Sugar Bowl with Alabama Vs Oklahoma always good. On the 3 rd it’s the Orange Bowl with Clemson Vs Ohio St in a juicy matchup. And finally on Jan 6 th the BCS Title Game will be played in Pasadena, CA.  #1 ranked Florida St will square off with #2 Auburn. I’m taking Auburn outright to hammer FSU up and down the field. All the games are listed with the start times and the matchup ranking at http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/24370140/the-top-35-your-201314-bowl-rankings. This is a good initial guide to allow you to plan your days accordingly. There are some not to be missed games early but the lineup for Jan 1.2 and 3 is “sick”. My sleeper shootout game with the some big offensive numbers is Miami and Louisville in the Russell Athletic Bowl on the 28th.

The NFL playoff schedule is far from being set although the dates are set and you can surmise as to what teams is a lock and what teams may sneak in. After a historically snowy Sunday the 8th in the AFC it would appear that Denver and New England are a lock to get first round byes. Baltimore, Indianapolis, Kansas City and Cincinnati look good with Miami battling with Tennessee, Pittsburgh and San Diego for a spot. In The NFC Seattle and New Orleans are the top rated with SF, Detroit, Carolina and Dallas sure to be in and Philadelphia, Arizona, Chicago and Green Bay fighting to be included. The Wild Card round begins on Jan 4 and 5. Divisional rounds are the Jan 11 -12  and the Divisional Championship games will be on Jan 19. The Super Bowl is Feb 2 at Met Life Stadium, E. Rutherford, NJ. Intriguing in its own right as that is an outdoor venue and the possible frigid Northeast weather could play a big role in this game much like some of the others.

My buddy Joe just started up a cool website www.Ticketsupermart.com where you can get ticket to all the bowl games and NFL playoff games. www.Ticketsupermart.com is  essentially a comparison site with  ten different ticket companies displayed including my favorite www.Nationalticketagency.com . So far as getting the best price bottom line they are #1. They’re slogan is “We kick Stub Hubs ass” LOL There are also cool links to all sorts of travel and the top merchandise/jersey sites and to some of the sports book sites that we have listed here. Check the site out and for goodness sakes buy something so Joe will have money to buy me a Xmas present plugging him. Hint Patron Silver …Happy Holidays Everyone!
